My sense is this is a very well designed product, and a part of a really easy to use system. I understand the importance of the electrical pre-install checks and advise everyone to do them. It’s doing the job I hoped it would, maintaining a nice even floor temperature using the Ditra-Heat thermostat. It’s not inexpensive, but I think you get what you pay for in this case. Absolutely no complaints.

The schluter cable is a little thicker than other cable i had looked at and fits perfectly in the uncoupling membrane. It was easy to install once i had the layout but i did have to pull it a few times when i realized i was boxing myself in the oddly shaped bathroom. I chose the 64 sqft 120v cable bc i didn’t want to have too much cable and not enough room to properly space. The first time I tested our heated floor it took about 15 to 20 mins to raise the heat tile temp from 62 to 70 degrees. It probably wouldn’t have taken that long if I had the heat in the house turned up to normal 68-70 degrees. Great product!

Gave one star only because zero is not available. Followed the installation instructions to a tee. Performed and documented all required electrical tests. When I submitted the warranty registration to Schluter Systems I was informed that the WARRANTY WAS VOID because Amazon was an “UNAUTHORIZED ONLINE DEALER”. This is huge because if there is a manufacturing defect the only solution is to rip up the floor and start over. I had conversations with several people within the company. A district rep gave several reasons (excuses) for not validating the warranty, which I paraphrase, then debunk:Excuse #1 – “Some technical expertise is required to install the product. Authorized dealers are needed to provide technical support”.Debunk #1 – Home Depot is an authorized dealer for Schluter products. Ditraheat products are non-stock items at my local HD store so it’s unlikely the local help can provide meaningful support. You can also purchase Ditraheat products from Home Depot’s online store. How does technical support differ whether I press “Place Order” from Home Depot or Amazon?Excuse #2 – “It costs money to maintain Schluter’s support network”Debunk #2 – This isn’t a case of counterfeit products being sold. The genuine merchandise was sold by Schluter Systems to authorized dealers, who in turn sold to dealers such as Amazon. Schluter Systems received the same compensation regardless of whom it was purchased from.Schluter Systems manufactured this product and was properly compensated. Provided it was installed properly, they should STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT, PERIOD. Shame on Schluter for hiding behind lame excuses and Amazon for selling a product they likely know is poorly supported. The product itself is good but unfortunately only as good as the company behind it. I recommend that you find alternative products that are fully supported by their manufacturers.

Excellent floor heating system. Easy to install that doesn’t require a pro. Just make sure you get the right amount of cable. The Schluter website has a calculator based on the floor area.

Don’t buy to much!! Buy less than you need if you aren’t sure and always measure the floor area minus 4 inches from the wall all the way around… We had to buy a second roll because we were over like 20 get off material and I had it tucked in there like a pro… Had to rearrange the pattern several times to make it work and the worst part was paying the licensed tech to come out before during and after the install to check with the special meter to get the warranty signed off. They have to push power through it with a special meter before it goes down to make sure the roll is good from the factory… Then during the install once it’s down in the schluter underlayment to make sure you didn’t pinch it or break it, then after the tile went on it… Real pain in the ass if you want that warranty but it works really nice in the winter

Schluter is the only way to go for tile heating. The layout of the wiring takes a little planning. I used a sharpie on the schluter floor pad to mark it out ahead of time. This is a good price

This product works great and is easy to install. I wasn’t sure how much I would use heated floors. Sometimes features like this end up sounded better than they are in practice. In this case, I love having warm floors in the morning and at night in the bathrooms. I would definitely buy again.

Perfect condition from arrival to install. They passed electrical testing and now under tile the heater works perfect. Remember to install both temp sensors, the one with the heater and the one with the t-stat as a back up!

Very easy to install with ditra heat underlayment. The cable cant be cut or installed under toilet or vanity so order only what you need. Does include a sensor.

The shipper, UPS, trashed the box and cable was all tangled and had to be unraveled and re-spooled to another spool prior to installation. Had I had time, I’d have rejected order and re-ordered.

The manufacture Schluter requires testing the wire prior to install. The wire I purchased did not pass the initial test. I am hopeful this seller will send me a replacement item.
