This is a SMALL heater. I bought it for a SMALL 8×12 outdoor green house to keep my plants from freezing. It’s safe. I like the safety features because I leave it on unattended for periods of time. (Greenhouse does a good job holding heat) It is NOT going to make it hot. at 30 degrees out side it will barely heat it over 32 degrees, but for me that’s enough. It’s NOT going to make anything big, like a garage, HOT. Warmer is the key word. It doesn’t blow with force, it’s like a rolling heat. I know it says “heats up to160 square feet” That would have to be under ideal conditions and a pretty lengthy period of time. To warm my greenhouse with this this (96 Sqr feet) takes over an hour if it’s 32 degrees out. For me that’s enough, but I think many of the reviewers desire something to make it HOT and in larger areas. So just think about what you are going to use it for and in what temperature. I think it could make a 160 Sqr Foot warm if it were a finished garage with an ambient temperature in the 50’s to begin with. It’s not a beast, it’s a small so far reliable tool for a small space. I did also have it trip a breaker that I had in my greenhouse but I just ran a new extension cord from a different wall socket and it works fine. Hope this helps you decide. If you’re in doubt and have the budget GO BIGGER, and don’t skimp on the safety features if you plan to leave it unattended.

I need to stand right next to the unit to feel the heat. At your feet while you sit at a desk would be fine. They mention about it heating a room…not.

This may be useful to heat a shed, but the temperature is too low and air flow to slow to heat a garage. If it’s for a shed, you should be good. Not a garage.

I bought this heater to supplement my house heating in the office room. The heater is great, nice and quiet, and gives out a lot of hot air for the size. And this is the point, it’s tiny and small. Please buyers, be aware of this. It will heat a 160 sqft space, of course, but it will take time. This is not the heater to get the chill out quickly and keep your 2-car garage warm in the winter. This will not happen.Otherwise, I am happy to have this little heater.

Seems like it will work, but have not had an extreme cold spell to demonstrate effectiveness yet.

I bought one and it puts out enough heat for me. A friend seen it and liked it so i bought another one for him. I think you should know i live in deep south Texas where our winter are 2 weeks long and we are closing schools when temp dips down to low 70s.

I used this to heat my 2 car garage in the winter months. It provides more heat than I thought it would for the small size. If it was pointed directly at me it kept me comfortable in a cold space.

Puts out a good amount of heat. Nice and compact stand.
