How do you review a 6 volt power adapter? You plug it in the wall and 6 volt power comes out the other end! In all fairness, it does work well, and seems to have the lasting power output to run the fan on the Big Buddy Heater without over heating the transformer. I gave it 4 stars because of the price, but then, the male plug to fit the heater is a small size, not common to most charger/converters. The name of the game is to eliminate the need to constantly replace batteries if you, in fact, want to run the fan on the heater! I guarantee you, you will want to run the fan to get the maximum heat output and to better circulate the air – at least on the initial warm up! “Nuff said! Go ahead and buy one! You won’t be disappointed!

If you own the Big Buddy Heater, the 6 volt electric adapter is a must. Unless you’re just using it for tailgating or something similar, then the batteries will do … but they only last for a few hours. The adapter gives you the ability to circulate the air via the internal fan on the BB.Like many other folks, I broke the wire. Not me, of course, because I’m perfect … but most likely my pesky girlfriend … even though I told her to be extra careful when walking past the cord. It could have been my Rottweiler, but based on a similar misstep by the GF (after I spliced it back together) I’m convinced she was the culprit who broke the cord the first time.So now, I’ve spliced and taped it back together for a second time. It’s been working fine for the past couple of weeks.Get the adapter and then train your girlfriend to adapt (pun intended) to the new walking conditions.

It’s outstanding! Really improved my Big Buddy Heater. I am trying to he at a very old Office Trailer I converted to a place to sleep at my hunting camp in Central Georgia. The 1975 trailer is 8 X 28 Feet and very drafty. My single pane windows are less than optimal and leak air. I have the heater at one end and I sleep at the other. During a typical 30 degree night, with the Big Buddy on Low, without any fan on the heater at all, the end with the heater will be 80 degrees and the other one about 60 degrees. Turn on the fan powered by 4 D Cell batteries and that improves but not much because the fan does not run very fast. The addition of the Power Adapter improved to about 75 degrees at the heater and 70 at the point where I sleep because the fan really runs fast and moves the air. I consider the small price a bargain for a good nights comfortable sleep.

It’s exactly what you think. A power adapter to run a buddy heater fan from an outlet. I can’t bring myself to give it 5 stars because it’s way overpriced for what it is, and I thought about 3 stars just because of that, however the fan on mine blows harder with this than it does with even new D Cell batteries, so I added a star.Oh, my new D batteries were not actually new new, but they were still in the unopened package that had sat for a year batteries. If your fan doesn’t blow harder because you were using better batteries than me, it’s not my fault. Regardless, this does what it is supposed to and even though it’s expensive, I use my buddy to heat my garage when I’m working out there, so it will pay its self off with what I’ll save on batteries.

Works way better than the batteries in all honesty. If your using a mrBuddy heater in a shed or somewhere where there is power get this cord. You don’t have to change batteries just leave it plugged in and flip the switch when your ready to use it. Using the adapter the fan has way more power and spins faster than with the batteries. The cord is well worth the 7 bucks but I do think it’s cheap that the heaters don’t come with the power adapter kind of a slimey move just spent 150 bucks on a new heater only to get home and it doesn’t have the adapter in the box to use one of the marketed features. Just kinda stupid and an annoyance.

Second Update!!!! Mr Heater replaced the defective item without an issue. NOW, AFTER 4 WEEKS, THE REPLACEMENT FAILED. !!!!!!! JUNK. NEXT TIME I’LL BUY THE KNOCK OFF FOR LESS MONEY.UPDATE!!! Exactly two days after the return window closed at Amazon this adapter stopped working. I thought by buying an original part from Mr Heater it would be a better quality. Do yourself a favor and buy the cheapest one you can find even if it’s aftermarket. Because it’s not going to last.We have had a Mr Heater Big Buddy for 3 years and have never even tried using the built-in fan before. When I started looking at the 6v adapters for about the same price as a set of d cell batteries, I was ready to take the plunge. There are many knock offs / generic brands out there and they’re all about the same price. Then I ran across this one, and for the same amount of money I am getting an original, Mr Heater branded adapter. Sold. It arrived quickly and I plugged it on and luckily the fan on our heater did indeed work. I fired up the heater that evening and all I can say is, WOW! The fan sends the heat out into the room creating a more even and comfortable heat source. And the biggest difference we noticed was when we used the heater on the lowest setting. It kept the room very comfortable. Down side? There’s a fan running creating a bit of white noise the was never there before. We’ll gladly trade the small amount of noise for the increased efficiency and comfort created by this small inexpensive adapter.

OEM packaging and works as expected. No more using batteries to operate my Tough Buddy heater.

If you plan on using the fan on your portable heater, this is a must-have, as the required D-cell batteries will only last for a while. The wire from the block to the plug is flimsy, and you must protect it from damage. It’s a bit pricey, however.

Worked great for about a week and it’s now, not working. I will need to contact the manufacturer for replacement. It was promising but, I am disappointed.

This is better than just using batteries when electricity is available! The heater works without electricity and is the reason I bought it. For emergencies like a major power outage caused by a snow storm like the recent one in Buffalo N.Y. Since using it I enjoy having the extra comfort it brings and the fan adapter does make a difference!
