We are experienced DIYers, but this is our first heat mat. Instructions were clear. Layout took some thought/planning. Install of mat and tiles over top straightforward. We used cardboard to cushion us from the mat during install. Love the warm floors.

Disclaimer: I didn’t install this, my contractor did. I only ordered the wrong size and programmed the thermostat.All in all, this is a really great addition to the new bathroom. I was so excited for a heated floor and now we have it. When I suggest it to others they’re kind of in disbelief that it’s only a few hundred dollars and we didn’t have to run hot water pipes under the tile.Other than me ordering too big of a mat and not being able to cut the heating line, it installed easily and setup was a breeze.Unless we did something wrong, I’m slightly disappointed with how slowly the floor took to heat up. Today was the first day I activated the thermostat and set it up. At 9am I hit the override to go to 84 and at 5pm it’s finally up to 82.

Very Good floor heating system. Install instructions were good but some pictures were incorrect. Some showed “Mat side Down” using double face tape to hold mat in place. Instruction had a Note: “Mat side UP ” which is correct. This allows you to apply the first coat of thin set over the mat and not touch the red wire. The install continuity box connected to the red heater wire insures the heater wire is not damaged during install. I downloaded the setup instructions for the thermostat onto my laptop and went step by step through the 40+ pages and made it easy to setup.

The thermostat is a huge disappointment. You cannot even switch the heating off but only program it to have low temperature. After asking for my zip code the thermostat still ended up showing the time deviating by 3 hours!!! And don’t be misled that it’s WiFi thermostat, it does work with Alexa.We regret a lot that we ordered the bundle and installed the flooring prior to testing thermostat’s features, otherwise the whole bundle would be on its way to Amazon.
