Having this at 100′ is ideal for my 42′ long roof line. I need to order custom clips to do the full install which I expected because I have snap seam rather than crimped standing seam so the overlaps are wider and I don’t want to crush them. The clips would work fine for a crimped standing seam roof.I tested the heating on this and it heats up nicely. So will have no problem melting the snow.My roof is non-vented and has R-28 foam underneath the standing seam. The only way to keep this clear is to heat and put up some now retention or I will always have a snow berm along the side of the house.Once I have this installed (need dryer weather) I should be able to install gutters to keep the snow from dumping along the side of the house. I will also put show retention about 2 feet above the gutters with the heat wire along the retention poles to get a consistent melt instead of a full dump. The 100′ will allow me to zig-zag this high and low to use the slope to get rid of the snow.

I have an issue with frost heave on a concrete slab under the edge of a hanger door. About 45 feet of leading edge of slab would heave during really cold spells and trap the door closed. I have the heat tape wrapped in old towels and laid along bottom edge of hanger door and it keeps the concrete warm enough to prevent the heave so far this year. Todd

heat tape, Deicing Heating Cable,Pipe (Metal And Plastic) Freeze Protected Water Pipe Heating Cable, Self Regulating Temperature, with Mounting Buckle, 120V 50feet 8W/ftThese 50 ft heat tape worked great over our garage this past week! We usually get horrible icicles that form over our home entry way (which is the garage) and with the drastic fluctuation in temperatures the icicles melt and then freeze over and over again creating a very dangerous ice rink below. After installing this on the edge of the roof it took about an hour but started to melt the ice and keep them from forming. We got a break in the cold temp before everything froze over again and took the opportunity to break up the ice below and move it to the side. No more ice rink! Highly recommend.

With the recent sustained freezing temps, I didn’t want to take the chance of busted pipes so finding a heated item to minimize the chances of that was important. It really doesn’t get much simpler to use. I likely won’t use it on the roof but on pipes that are at risk from freezing, this will be extremely valuable. I recommend putting it on a GFCI socket for extra protection. Also, this cable stores easily just like any small extension cord. Don’t wait for the busted pipe to happen! Be ready!

This is some serious, heavy duty heating tape. I think it is going to do a good job. Keeping our pipes warm. I will probably need to buy a lot more however. With the weather, we all just had I’m sure everybody wishes they had something just like this on their pipes. This is going to be very easy to install and I expect it will bring great relief during the coming winter month.

I was hoping to try out these cables on a single section of my roof this winter, but I gave up after an hour of trying. Due to the flat (as opposed to round) nature of the cables, I was unable to get them to stay in the clips, or achieve the “zig-zag” pattern you’re supposed to use. Every time I’d connect a cable at the upper location, it would come unclipped from the lower one. They were so stiff that it didn’t seem possible to get them to lay flat.I believe that a professional installer would have no problem with these, however. I tested the cables before installing and they did heat up nicely. They appear to be of good quality, but I would recommend getting someone handy to install them if you’re a heat tape novice.

I got this heat tape just in time for the winter. I installed this tape on our main line just before the big cold snap at the end of 2022. It was simple to install and as easy as plugging it into an extension cord to make it work. I truly believe it saved my pipes from bursting during the cold spell.

Every winter in Maine we get a spell of negative 10 degree weather for three or four days. This will always freeze up our water lines that run along the outer wall of our house (inside the house). We have tried to insulate the lines, but the way they are bracketed against the wall it makes it hard. We ran the Deicing Heat Cable along the water lines and it has worked very well so far!Very excited to think that we won’t have to worry about lack of water during cold spells this winter!

Works well. Melted through 6″ of ice relatively quickly. Seems well constructed and durable.

A great item to have if you have really cold weather or snow. It’s very heavy-duty feeling, so I get the impression that it should last for quite a lot of winters. You do need to be careful what you plug this into given the large draw but worth protecting your roof or pipes with.

This heat tape/cable works great. It’s fairly simple just wrap and mount it on your waterline and no more frozen pipes!! I’d recommend it. A+

I have a lot of trouble with ice build up on my roof. The heat tape that was on the house when I bought it no longer worked, so when I saw this, I ordered it immediately. I haven’t installed it yet because it’s not safe to yet, but I did plug it in and could feel it hearing up within seconds, and it comes with clips to make installation simple. I’m planning to order more. One thing I wish I could do, which can’t be done is string multiple strings together. I do recommend this product, though.

Amazing heated cord to keep pretty much anything you want from freezing over. I lay this cord all back and forth over my deck and steps and it keeps my deck completely snow and ice free. Also wrap around our main water pipe under the house and keeps it from freezing over. This thing is amazing. I reccomend getting the longest size as you’ll have plenty to wrap around anything you want.

Just as advertised, would buy again

Froze and ruptured plumbing last year was a head ache to replace, with this, hopefully no where the issues as last winter
