Like others hoping to extend our outdoor season during the pandemic we needed some heaters. I did not want to use a propane heater and enlarge my carbon footprint. Besides, we keep the canvas umbrella open all year as it is lined with LED lights. I wanted some heat “under” the umbrella and since I have an 11kW photovoltaic system, I wanted to go electric. Conventional electric heaters sit on the floor or take up valuable table space. (Same with electric). These heaters fit the bill. Anything near this design is ten times the price. I built a walnut “tree” on which to hang the heaters. The pull chain gives low and high heat adjustments .There is also an LED light. It need not be on to have heat. Nice touch. I know the reviews have been quite critical of this product but so far the design is exceptional and the price worth taking the chance. Yes, I know they are not for outdoor use, but! I got the three year extra warranty for eight bucks. Hope that in three years we can start entertaining indoors. If these heaters last, we will still have the option for extending our Summer Al Fresco dining. I gave only four stars as I have not yet had the opportunity evaluate the longevity of this product.

I got this little heater for my front porch, which is covered. However, the manual says it’s not for outdoor use- with no further explanation as to why. Exposure to the elements? Moisture? Vermin? I don’t know. Then, the heater has about a 3-foot cord, and the manual says it must be plugged directly into an outlet- no extension cords (not even heavy duty ones?). Also, it needs to be hung from the ceiling joists, and if not, you’re supposed to come up with a mounting board for it. Now, this heater is not very heavy at all, and I think that sturdy anchors could be used, but hey, do I really want it to fall off my ceiling and set fire to the house? Finally, I had considered mounting on the pillars or back wall of the porch, and the 15-second video of this product on the listing website seems to show a heater installed on a wall. No. The manual says do not install it on a wall. Obviously, I don’t want to burn my house down. I did plug the heater in to test it (I used a heavy duty extension cord), just to see how hot it got. It seemed good. I live in Oregon, so I think this unit could actually warm up my front porch pretty well, since it doesn’t get crazy cold here. However, with all the warnings and limitations found in the manual, I don’t want to take the risk of either shorting something out, or burning something down. I am returning the heater, but not because it didn’t get hot. If I was setting it up in my garage/shop and only used it when I was present, I think it would do a good job. I cannot comment on its longevity or overall longterm qualities. I wish I could use it, but it’s not worth the risk.

Works great long as you hook it upto a thermostat. In fact it holds temps in my building better then a store bought 6 element heater

This heater is meant to help my baseboard electric heating system in my shop. My shop is 16×20 with 22 foot ceiling and a wall of windows facing north. I leave baseboard heat set at 45 degrees at night, so that’s where I start.I needed a little more help getting the shop up to 60 or so degrees and then maintaining that temperature for the day. Now after a couple hours, I turn down the baseboard heat and stay comfortable the rest of the day, using this wall heater. The directions say not to mount it on the wall, but their own website shows pictures mounted this way. I’m careful not to go off and leave it on high, unattended for more than a few minutes.I do have a ceiling fan in the shop that pulls hot air down, so that probably helps with high ceilings quite a bit…fyi. This works perfectly for my situation, and I’m very pleased with it. Hope this helps you to make a decision whether to buy.

Well I put two in the garage to keep it warm exercising. Well it works but it does run a lot of juice. Each needs there own 20 amp breaker, anything added causes it to trip when it shares. It seems good, bought warranty because these things are notorious for not lasting. But it seems of decent quality and it was easy to install on beams in garage hanging overhead

We hung this in our barn to keep our animals warm this last winter and it worked great. I really like the way it tilts and the 3 way switch. I highly recommend this heater.
