Do not cheap out on this. 1. Read the directions. 2. Follow the directions. Seriously. Do not plug anything else in the outlet with this. Keep an eye on it. Don’t use constantly. It clearly states not to use for more than three hours. My water heater broke. For some odd reason I could not even run cold water into my tub much less warm. I had to fill tub with a pitcher just to get water in the tub. Then I put the heater in. The water was 47 degrees! It did take a long time to heat – almost three hours. But it was many gallons of water and there was no way I could bathe in 47 degree water. Just plan ahead, take bath at night. I can not tell you how happy I was to be able to take a bath. It was actually too hot at 103 degrees. Had to add some more cold water and it was perfect. I had realistic expectations and was not disappointed. I turn off, unplug, and put heated end it into a large dishpan with cold water in it to cool off while I bathe. Later I wipe it dry and store it carefully for next time. Be careful with it.

This worked for 2 days. Warmed my pool several degrees. Stopped working day 3 and nothing I tried would get it started again. It is going back for a refund.

Although it worked very well heating up my hot tub, it caught the hot tub on fire 🔥 when inadvertently left on and out of the water….my hot tub is a total loss as shown in my pics.the heating unit apparently has no high temperature limit safety feature and will catch fire to anything that’s flammable nearby.Fortunately, for my home the hot tub was outside, however THIS DEVICE SHOULD NOT BE USED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES and should be reported to the Amazon seller…

No good for a stock tank pool, but would be great to keep water from freezing in the winter

No way it can heat a four-person tub. More heat escapes off the surface than it emits. Needs constant cleaning. Would help if it had a water level detector so that it would turn automatically when the water is drained and you have forgotten to switch it off, but it doesn’t and it glows scary red when there is no water surrounding it.
