The heating unit was installed easily by a GC during our bathroom refit. The tub was removed to create a temperature comfortable area for a drying (sitting) bench and towel cabinet. The heater is above this area of the BR adjacent to our shower. It provides enough heat to take the chill out of the BR and lower the humidity. We had it installed in line with the ceiling light with a timer switch (15 amp breaker). We’re very pleased with the unit.

Good news. This heater seems to be well made with all medal construction, and a low noise level. Bad news. The curtain of heat advertised is non existent unless you have a low ceiling. The fan doesn’t have the power to push warm air more than about five feet from the unit. It does a great job heating the ceiling, not so much at people level. The unit was more difficult to install than I expected. The brackets supplied can only be used if you can get above the ceiling. I had to make a 2″X 4″ box between the rafters to flush mount the heater. In the heaters defense our bathroom where the heater is installed is about 150 sq.ft. With 8 ft. Ceiling. In an hours time it will raise the temperature in the shower area by a few degrees. That is about the same performance as a much less expensive heater available at Lowes, or Home Depot.

not what I expected for the price but it does what I want ,it does look good my friend and I installed in 45minutes we replaced existing dual red lamp heater which did very little ,so electric and hole in ceiling was already there

This was one of the few units I could find to replace a heat lamp which typically does not have a vent. The heat lamps cast a weird red glow and did not really do much. While this fit easily into the same opening, and does not require a vent, as some other reviewers pointed out, it is not very effective. We have a 10 x 12 bathroom and after setting the time to the full 30 minutes, I can’t tell much difference in temp. It also is tripping the breaker when my wife uses her hair dryer at the same time. Probably to be expected, since the hair drier is 1500 watts too, and it’s only a 15 amp circuit (I am guessing the builder did not intend the heat lamps to be replaced by a 1500 watt heater) but after spending over $200 in this, I am rather disappointed. We’d probably be better off buying something to hold the hair dryer in place and just turn that on. I am half joking… while I am sure it would be much louder, I wouldn’t be surprised if the hair dryer was more effective at heating up the space.

This was a fairly easy install, but I do have some drywall experience. This was to replace a surface mounted unit that had died. I did have to cut the drywall on the ceiling to fit the heater, but the wiring was already there, connected to a timer. It was easy to guide the wire through the knock-out and get it connected up.Once I got it installed and the breaker turned back on, I did a quick test. The unit was a lot quieter than I expected, probably because it is not moving as much air as I expected. Being that it is ceiling mounted and warm air tends to rise, the unit does not do as good at warming a 68 square foot bathroom (8 ft ceiling) as I had hoped. It has not kept the mirror from fogging up at all. This would work better as a wall mounted unit.

Worked perfectly for what it’s being used for

I decided to spend more money to get a metal heater instead of plastic & I think it was definitely worth it. I really like the design too. Very little noise too!

it was automatic thermal shutdown
